Associated with the Réseau Varèse since 2005
The Arena Festival, started in 2002, has three purposes: promoting Latvian music through a policy of commissioned works, welcoming internationally acclaimed artists, and inviting a well-known composer each year to serve as the leading light of the festival, where his or her works will be performed. The Festival takes place over a period of three weeks each year, in October and November.
