MaerzMusik

Associated with the Réseau Varèse since 2002

MaerzMusik - Festival für aktuelle Musik – became the successor of the Berlin Biennial in 2002, as the annual festival dedicated to musical creation. The event, which strives to combine traditional and modern contemporary music, puts together twenty programmes over a period of ten days in March, organized under the responsibility of the Berliner Festspiele. Chamber music, orchestra, musical theatre, multimedia performances, and new audio-visual technologies are the themes for the programming, which offers numerous world premieres and new productions, including some that are commissioned by MaerzMusik.
