Proyecto Gerhard Javier Güell was created in 2002 to coordinate the programming, in Madrid, of Musicadhoy (created in 1996 by Javier Güell), Operadhoy, retrospective festivals, and the contemporary music ensemble Proyecto Guerrero. From January to June, Musicadhoy offers a season of contemporary music concerts – some ten concerts each year. Operadhoy is a festival that is held in June every year in Madrid with a programme of four contemporary operas. The retrospectives are held once a year, offering from 7 to 10 concerts in a week.

Javier Güell

Artistic Director

As a music producer, Javier Güell has introduced most of the major 20th century works to Spain. He is now the Artistic Director for the Musicadhoy season and of the Operadhoy festival, as well as for the Proyecto Guerrero ensemble. He has also programmed a variety of music retrospectives in Madrid, such as the John Cage festival (2006), ¿The Limits of the Composition? (2008), Feldman-Schubert (2009).
