Associated with the Réseau Varèse since 1999

This space is dedicated to classical, contemporary and popular music, jazz and world music, but also to dance, literature and fine arts. The Southbank Centre has grown around the Royal Festival Hall, inaugurated in 1951, and now includes three concert halls, an educational facility and an exhibition hall, among others. It hosts over a thousand events each year.

Gillian Moore

Head of Classical Music

Gillian Moore began her career in 1983 with the London Sinfonietta, becoming its Artistic Director from 1998 to 2003. She joined the Southbank Centre in 1993. She served as the Artistic Director of the ISCM World Music Days in 1998. She regularly works with the Royal College of Music, Radio 3 and BBC Television. In 2007, she received a Leslie Boosey Award pour for her activities in support of contemporary music in the United Kingdom.

Gillian Moore is a member of the Réseau Varèse since 2002.
